Another pretty critical piece of information I did not find in my pre-EV purchase research is that DC fast charging stops at 80% regardless of the charger rating. Generally, EV manufacturers recommend charging to a maximum of 80% regardless of if you charge at home or at public chargers. The realistic maximum range of your vehicle is 0.8*vehicle published range.

You can continue charging at a DC fast charger beyond 80% but charging speeds step down to about 11 kW, this translates to about 1% every 10 minutes for my Mach-E. I have heard Ford is considering enabling a ‘road trip charging mode’ to allow fast charging to continue through 90% to give added range without taking significantly more time but that is currently not available.
